Aqueduct Buc

Yesterday I went next to a historic aqueduct not very far from home and yet I did not know then I started returning to sail on the net in search info on this huge building that seemed to be full of history and experience and that's what I found:

The Buc aqueduct is built on the orders of Louis XIV to fuel tanks brand new Palace of Versailles. It measures 580 meters in length to 21 meters high and has 19 arches. To overcome this lack of water, the king ordered that initially develop a "machine" such as that of Marly, which would pump the Bievre. But the experiment has failed, he decided to build a large bridge over the river to get water to the ponds and Saclay Hole Salt (to Toussos-le-Noble). The construction lasted two years, the foundations of over 20 feet deep are provided to support the arches, which are extended on both sides by an underground aqueduct.
