Altarpiece of Saint-Nicolas-sur-àTessancourt Aubette

This Morning (even it is a bit late to say morning) I'll tell you about the Altarpiece of the Church of St. Nicolas to Tessancourt sur Aubette , a village of 928 inhabitants (yes I went to look far this one):

This altarpiece, which dates from the eighteenth century and a historical monument since 1930, in Baroque style adorns the chapel of the noble family of Vion, with abundant scenery and rich contrast with the sobriety of rest of the church . On the one hand and the altarpiece, representations of saints Peter and Nicolas are carved in wood size brushed white and gold and come certainly an altar they originally framed, St. Nicolas is identifiable with the award, one of his usual attributes that recalls the episode said the charity of St. Nicolas, during which he would have saved three young girls forced into prostitution by poverty, by building three purses full of gold in their home. For this reason and because it is celebrated in December that St. Nicolas is, since the Middle Ages, the saint distributor gifts. The altar table is the Good Shepherd.
